Lexan Masks
Following the findings of a recent investigation by the FIE (see attached report), and their subsequent decision regarding the use of lexan masks (which are now permitted only for Sabre competitions), the Ontario Fencing Association is announcing that effective imemdiately (10/2/10), lexan masks are prohibited from use at all sanctioned Foil and Epee competitions in Ontario.

OFA Policies on Officials
This document is a significant amendment to the OFA Policy on Referees, made effective on 15 October, 2002 which expands its scope to include Secretariat and presents a new training model for the development of new and existing officials in Ontario. This document will further be expanded to include Armourers in the upcoming months.
Sanction Policy and Procedures
Preamble - Why do we have sanctions?
The Ontario Fencing Association is designated by the Government of Ontario as the sole governing body of the sport of fencing in the province of Ontario. As such the OFA has been given the responsibility of ensuring that people engaged in activities related to fencing are able to do so in a safe and appropriate environment. Sanctions are a key part of this process.
