Inter-club or Just For Fun (JFF) events for recreational fencers to practice their skills in a fun and unpressured competition.

Eg. Spooky Foil, Ottawa Dry Foil, TFC Epeedemic
Points Awarded In house only (King of the Hill etc)

Referees no restrictions
OFA Membership Basic Associate

mostly recreational
LTAD Fundamentals, Learn to Train

 

Category 4

School leagues usually held on school property and run by their own set of rules and regulations.

 Category 3

Development competitions and the first level to collect points on Provincial and /or National Rankings. Subject to OFA conditions for sanction.

Eg. OYCAD, Ontario Challenge Circuit
Points Awarded               Provincial and National points available (none for under 12 years old)
Sanction Process Form 90 days prior-or by June 30 to protect date
Referees 50% P-rated or higher

Fencers closed  - no  "A" ,"B" and sometimes "C" fencers
LTAD Learn to Train, Train to Train

Category 2

Competitions to develop the fencer and to achieve results

Eg. Ontario Opens, OCC Finals, Team Invitationals
Points Awarded Provincial, National (for most)
Sanction Process Form 90 says prior-or by June 30 to protect date
Referees

60% P rated or higher

OFA Membership Competitive
Fencers open to all fencers (OCC Final no A or B)
