<p><span style="color: black;" lang="EN-US">The 9th annual <a href="http://fencingontario.ca/storage/downloads/flyers/1213/ACG-LTR-Poster 1-1.pdf">Asian Community Games</a> (ACG) is set to begin June 15, 2013. For the first time, fencing will be part of these Games with 48 athletes 14 years and younger. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: black;" lang="EN-US">With the addition of fencing, there will be total 11 games &mdash; track &amp; field, swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, cricket, golf, taekwondo and fencing &mdash; in which over 1,500 athletes are expected to participate.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: black;" lang="EN-US">The competitions are open to all communities.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: black;" lang="EN-US">&ldquo;The Asian Community Games is not only for Asians, it welcomes everyone and is open to all Canadian communities,&rdquo; Joseph Fong, chair of ACG 2013, told SAF. &ldquo;The mission of our event is to promote health, wellbeing, sportsmanship and friendship.&rdquo;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: black;" lang="EN-US">Our Y14 fencers qualified by ranking in the 2013 Youth 14 Provincial Championships and at the Ontario Summer Games last August. This event gives our younger athletes a taste of a Major Games event and a focus for their training throughout the year. We hope to make this a yearly event for our young athletes.</span></p>

<p>The purpose of this research is to examine how competitive athletes experience the Canada Summer Games tryouts.&nbsp;</p>

<li>Are <strong>trying out</strong> for the Canada Summer Games</li>
<li>&nbsp;Are aged 15 and older</li>

<p><strong>What do you need to do?</strong></p>

<p>Coaches in training may elect to participate in one, in two, or in all three of the courses.&nbsp; Coaching development is supported through individualized learning plans based on informal assessments of fencing and coaching skills. In addition to instruction in foil coaching, each session gives the coach candidates opportunities to work with fencing students of various ages and skill in scheduled classes.</p>
<p>&nbsp;Instruction is provided by Dr. Hugh Munby, Pr&eacute;v&ocirc;t D&rsquo;Armes, Level 4 Foil coach, and Head Coach of the Queen&rsquo;s University Fencing Club.&nbsp; Hugh is a Certified CIC and Aide Moniteur learning facilitator and evaluator.</p>
<p>Enrollment in each session is limited to 8 participants. The courses are sanctioned by the Ontario Fencing Association.</p>
