Technical Information

This competition will be run according to current FIE regulations. The Directoire Technique reserves the right to apply or modify these regulations as they see fit as according to section t.15 of the FIE Rules.

All fencers are REQUIRED to wear a sous plastron and fencing pants with long socks so that the legs are fully protected. Track pants will not be permitted as substitutions for fencing pants.

U11/U9 Events: Size 2 blades or smaller will be required for all U11 events.

All foil fencers participating in the U15, and U13 foil events are required to have a conductive foil bib. Conductive foil bibsare not required for U11 or U9 foil events.

The new soft overlay chest protectors are not specifically required for this competition, although they will be required for future competitions.

All fencers using the Leon Paul X-Change mask are required to have a two-point retention system. All masks must be in good condition, with enough retention in the back strap and tongue to ensure that the mask is a snug fit on the fencer’s head. This competition does not specifically require masks with the new fastening system as outlined in the Materials Rulebook published in December 2017.

Events with less than six (6) registrants may be combined with the same event of the opposite gender.

Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks. Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
