Participants must be competitive fencers, at least 10 years or older, Top 4 at Y12 in Provincial level events or D ranking at US.

Andrew Hu – 30+ years of international épée coaching, including Canada’s Cadet & Junior National Teams and China’s Men’s National Team. Coach of a Junior World Champion and an Olympic Silver Medalist.
Taeyang Song – Former Korean national team member, international coaching experience in Korea, USA and Canada with focus on young athlete development.
Camp Description
9:30-12:00: Warm-up Games (outdoor), Footwork Drills, Pair drills.
1:30-4:00: Structured Electric Bouting, fencing dedicated physical training, and wrap-up stretching.
The camp is designed to help the participants to redefine their personal fencing style and elevate their technical fundamentals through high‑intensity training alongside world champions and national‑level competitive athletes.
Camp Requirements
In addition to regular fencing equipment (mask, jacket, glove, knickers/track pants), participants will be expected to bring 3-4 working electric weapons & body wires, indoor court shoes and running shoes for outdoor trail. Please bring your own lunch or money for restaurants, which are about a 5-minute walk away.

The RMC Paladins Fencing program is hosting a high-performance training camp designed to prepare competitive fencers for the upcoming domestic, varsity, and international seasons. Participants will train alongside Varsity Paladins and elite Canadian Armed Forces athletes tuning up for the CISM Military World Championships.

Requirements
Participants must be competitive provincial, national, or varsity-level fencers (Foil, Épée, or Sabre) looking for a high-intensity, elite training environment. Minimum age is 14.

Coaches & Training Environment
Led by RMC Head Coach Steven Moore-Vountas and the Paladins coaching staff, providing an elite, high-intensity training room focused on technical mastery, tactical execution, and peak athletic conditioning.
Joining the staff for the camp are:
Loup-Yann Ferré (Épée Specialist): Currently coaching épée in the Quebec region, Loup-Yann is an épée fencer from Quebec City who has represented Canada in international junior and senior fencing competitions.
Jihad Kabbaj (Foil & Sabre Specialist): An international referee and international competitor who has represented Morocco and Canada on the international stage, Jihad currently coaches foil and sabre in the Ottawa/Gatineau region.
Camp Schedule (Daily: September 2–4, 2026)
- 09:00 – 12:00 | Morning Session: Fencing-specific physical preparation, advanced footwork drills, and weapon-specific tactical pair drills.
- 12:00 – 13:30 | Lunch Break: Rest and recovery. Fencers can bring their own lunch or visit nearby restaurants in downtown Kingston (approx. 5-minute drive / 20-minute walk).
- 13:30 – 16:00 | Afternoon Session: Structured electric bouting, high-level tactical scenarios, physical conditioning wrap-up, and recovery stretching. (Day 3 concludes with a camp-end competition).
Camp Requirements
- Full, regular competitive fencing equipment (Mask, jacket, plastron, glove, knickers/socks).
- 3–4 working electric weapons and body cords.
- Indoor court shoes (for the gym) and running shoes (for outdoor conditioning).

Fees and Deadlines*

Refunds
Event fees will be refunded in full if the request is made by 11:59pm on September 13, 2026. No fees will be refunded if the request is made after September 13, 2026.
No administrative fees will be refunded at any time.
Competition Format Senior Events (13 or more fencers in an event)
Seeding
Seeding will be based first on the top eight fencers with CFF HPP rankings, then the CFF domestic ranking. For those participants without a CFF HPP or CFF domestic ranking, the OFA ranking will be used.
The Directoire Technique (DT) reserves the right to make adjustments to the seeding based upon exceptional circumstances (e.g. former national team member without a ranking, foreign fencers).
First Round of Pools
Fencers will be seeded into pools of six or seven. In cases where pools of six or seven are not possible, the DT will determine the most practicable format, while ensuring to optimize competition.
Advancement into the second round will be ranked on the results from the pools in accordance with FIE rules. All participants promoted to the next round.
Division I
Fencers seeded in the top 60% (approx. and rounded based on the requirements for Division II) after the first round of pools advance into Division I. These fencers will be placed into a Direct Elimination (DE) table and will fence until a winner is determined.
Division II
Fencers seeded in the bottom 40% (approx. and rounded to a multiple of five) after the first round of pools will advance into Division II. These fencers will be seeded into pools of five based on the results of the first round.
Advancement into the second round will be ranked on the results from the second round of pools, in accordance with FIE rules. All participants will be promoted to the next round.
Fencers are then placed into a DE table and will fence until a winner is determined.
Results
Medals will be awarded to the top four spots in each of the Divisions. There is no fencing for third place.
Results from the events will be submitted to CFF for domestic rankings.
Results will also be included in the OFA rankings.
Events with Less than Six Fencers
Events are separated by gender but may be combined if there are fewer than six registrants in one gender. Should this happen, both a combined and separate women’s DE will be held.
Should the events occur on separate days, participants of the event with less than six fencers will be notified no later than seven days before the event and given the option of combining with the other gendered event, or a refund of event fees.
Multiple Events
Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks.
Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
If you are registered in multiple events, you must CONFIRM your check-in for each event; please do NOT assume that if you are checked into your first event that you are automatically checked into subsequent events.
License
All participants are required to have an active Recreational or Competitive CFF/OFA Fencing License or an equivalent license from the participant’s home federation.
All Canadian fencers are expected to hold a Canadian license.
You may purchase/renew your license via the Canadian Fencing Federation or the Ontario Fencing Association in real time.
All international participants are required to present documentation confirming that they hold an active membership with their home federation, or a current, active FIE license.

Please note that the OFA supports and encourages all athletes who want to get involved in the fencing community in Ontario in a supportive and safe environment.
Any spectators, parents, coaches, or individuals who have an inappropriate and/or disrespectful attitude towards an official, tournament organizer, or staff member will be excluded from the competition.
Please note that there is seating for spectators on the level above the gym and that no spectators will be allowed on the competition floor.
Coaches may not enter the competition floor during pools and must check-in at the venue and receive a wristband prior to entry onto the competition floor.
