May 15, 2098 – May 16, 2019
A training and theory course on content specific training for Learning Facilitators and Evaluators will be staged before the CFF National Championships in Quebec City from May 15 -16, 2019.
These two courses (Content specific training, for learning facilitators and evaluators) are required for coaches who want to become Learning Facilitators(LF) and Evaluators.
For clarification, this Sport Specific content being delivered in May 2019 will focus on how to teach the coaching course/level known now as “Instructor Beginner” (IB). The LFs-in-training attending the CFF Course in May, will learn this IB course content, and learn how to deliver/facilitate it, as new Learning Facilitators-in-training. This is the same course content that we taught in Kingston in the spring of 2018.
Any Ontario Coaches that already did the Learning Facilitator(LF) Sport Specific Training in Ste. Catherine’s last June (after the 2018 Nationals) do not need to the take the LF Training at this coming 2019 Nationals. It is the same course. They only need to take the Evaluator Training, so they should only sign up for the second day so long as they have completed the Core Competencies training via CAC (Coaches Association of Canada).
Any Ontario Coaches that did not attend Ste. Catherine’s last June, and are interested in working toward becoming new Learning Facilitator (to coach new coaches) need to sign up for the first day.
a) Learning Facilitator Training, which is fencing specific to the teaching of the IB Coach Course
b) They will also have to still take the Core Competencies through CAC to learn the non-sport specific content on their own
c) Then they will eventually have to also take the Evaluator Training, if they also want to evaluate new IB coaches, as well as train them, in their role as LFs
