Ontario Newsroom: Step 1 Beginning Friday, June 11th

The Ontario government has accelerated its Step 1 reopening date to this Friday, June 11th, according to a newsroom briefing published on the morning of June 7, 2021.

Under Section 5, Sports and recreations are permitted outdoors, with a 10 person limit at any time while maintaining 3 meter physical distance.

Day camps are also permitted within provincial safety guidelines – the Wellington-Dufferin Day and Overnight Camp Providers page contains some more information and resources that could be helpful.

The Medical and Health Committee is currently finalizing the Return to Play Protocol (version 7) to better align with the provincial reopening strategy, and will no longer include the Return to Play phases.  Please keep an eye out for the new version in the coming days.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and see you outside!
