Update #11: Ontario Reopening Framework Revision

Ontario’s reopening framework to keep Ontario safe and open has now shifted to a coloured zone scheme, with an added Lockdown zone that the Toronto and Peel region entered into as of Monday, November 23, 2020.

Please review the framework (summary PDF) and the regulations associated with your region provided in the framework. Please also note that local health units may impose stricter restrictions than those outlined in the provincial framework.

Of particular note, clubs in grey zone regions should not be operating, unless the space is being solely used for athletes, coaches and officials training or competing to be part of Team Canada at the next Olympics and have been so identified by the CFF (see s.48, O.Reg. 82/20).

The OFA cannot provide a legal opinion or a sanction. If a Club is having fencing, be sure to follow all protocols to keep everyone safe. The RTP provides a 4-phased approach to return to play. If a club is having fencing, the OFA urges all clubs and members to review the Provincial Reopening Framework information, and follow the advice of their local health authorities, to train with the utmost caution, follow the risk mitigating steps within the Return To Play Protocol, and to refer to the resources on the OFA COVID-19 Return to Play page, including sample waivers, for more information.

Stay safe and warm!
