Update #5: OFA Return To Play Webpage

Following the publishing of the OFA COVID-19 Return To Play Protocol, clubs owners and coaches were invited to two Town Hall meetings on Thursday, May 28th for information, comments, feedback, and Q&A.  Thank you to all who attended – was great to see familiar faces again!

We have now received clarification on the gathering size restriction for sport – according to the Ontario FAQ About Essential Businesses, the limit to gatherings in facilities still remains at 5.

The OFA Medical and Health Committee has updated the COVID-19 Return To Play Protocol to reflect the new restrictions.  The Protocol and supporting documents are now housed on the OFA COVID-19 Return To Play Page, nested under the Medical and Health Committee page.  There is also a daily checklist for both athletes and clubs that outlines what should be done at a minimum before, during, and after training.

We encourage all members to read through the Protocol, however, to better inform yourselves of the risks and mitigating strategies for reducing community spread.

We will be generating French and Chinese versions of the daily checklists in the near future.  If you have already done so for your own clubs, and would not mind sharing those resources, please let us know!

The COVID-19 Return To Play Page will be updated regularly with changes in the Provincial and National landscape, so please check back periodically to stay current!

We are also looking at regular Town Hall meetings with clubs, coaches, and potentially members as we move through the summer months.  More information will be sent out once the MHC has had a bit of a breather!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at any time.

Stay safe and healthy!
