The OFA is very excited to be offering a Community Fencing Coach Course at Durham College, the weekend of June 7th, 2019. This fencing coaching course is part of a larger NCCP Super Clinic for coaches in Ontario. This is an excellent course for those beginning to coach in Ontario Fencing Clubs.
If you, or anyone else you know in your club, are interested in taking this fencing coaching course you can register online through the Coaching Association of Ontario. You may also need to set up your file with an NCCP number if you don’t already have one.
This is the first time in many years that the OFA is offering this new community level course, recently developed by the Canadian Fencing Federation, and we are very excited to begin offering new coaching development opportunities and training in the province. We hope you will join us!
Five great reasons to take this course.
1/ Build your confidence as a program or club coach working with kids
2/ Understand clearly how to plan a fun and enjoyable fencing practice
3/ Learn about Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) is part of coaching
4/ Affirm your knowledge of Yellow/Orange Armband Skills in fencing
5/ Be a leader in your club and your fencing community
Please don’t hesitate to contact Patricia Howes, Chair of the OFA Coaching Development Committee, if you have any questions.
