The Ontario Fencing Association (OFA) would like to highlight two recent changes on its Board of Directors.
Firstly, Fidelia Ho, who served on the board for almost 5 years, resigned her position in order to dedicate more time to other interests. Fidelia was a valued member of our board: her calm demeanor, her superior organisational skills as she took on the tasks of board secretary, as well as her advice in helping us navigate through compliance and legal issues, particularly during the COVID pandemic will be greatly missed. We wish her the best of luck in her future projects and look forward to working with her as a referee in the future.
Secondly, the OFA Board would like to welcome Rick Schobesberger to the board. Rick brings over 30 years of strategic planning and regulatory experience in the aviation industry. We will seek his leadership to help us navigate our next strategic planning exercise, which will begin later this year. Rick is also an epéeist. As per our by-laws, Rick was appointed by the Board and will be presented for ratification at our next AGM.
Lastly, we still have one open position on the board, namely that of Secretary. If you, or someone you know, has superior organizational skills, please send an email to president@fencingontario or web@fencingontario.
Please join us in welcoming Rick to the board and do not hesitate to contact us if you or someone you know would like to be considered for the role of secretary.
