Positions: HPDP Weapon Coordinators x 3

General Program Mandate:
- To create and foster a system of fencing training and development building Ontario athletes to possess the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to eventually become successful members of the CFF Senior National Teams.
- To organize, plan, and administer a series of training camps for the HPD Program, across the province of Ontario, in all three disciplines of fencing; foil, epee and sabre.
- To ensure a developmental pathway for athletes in Ontario, respecting LTAD, and linking to the CFF High Performance programs for national team programs.
- To ensure open communication between the OFA and all Ontario Fencing Clubs, including Head Coaches and Assistant coaches, regarding the HPDP fencing pathway.
Job Skills:
Possess project management skills.
Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with English being a priority, French an asset, as well as other languages.
Possess active current knowledge of the LTAD plan for fencing as published by the CFF in foil, epee or sabre.
Possess troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
To communicate effectively with fencing clubs, athletes, and coaches across the province.
Key Task(s):
Plan training camp projects: 2 training camps for each weapon for the season 2019-2020, to be coordinated with the HPDP coordinator. The organization of the training camps include, but are not limited to, securing the facility, making the training schedule and content, ensuring enough coaches will be present, dividing the training camps accordingly to the level of the fencers present, and planning all the details with the other weapon coordinators in the possibility where weapons might be combined for camps. All details above must be confirmed with the HPDP coordinator beforehand (securing facility or hiring extra coaches for example).
Manage communications regarding HPDP between athletes, coaches, and the OFA (through the HPDP coordinator).
Salary:
Each weapon coordinator will receive a total of $3,000.00. $1,500.00 will be paid after the submission of the report after each of the training camps.
All planning, communication, report writing, and training camp attendance is included in the salary. Each weapon coordinator must be present during their camps. Hired coaches at the training camps can be mandated to act as the head coach for the camp but the weapon coordinator has to be present during the duration of their training camps.
Transport to (and from) the training camps and accommodation will be arranged or reimbursed by the OFA. Transport and accommodation are not included in the salary.
