The Ontario Fencing Association is launching its fourth High Performance Development Program (HPDP) for 2019-2020. Aimed at the Train to Train, Train to Compete and Train to Win categories, the program’s goal is to offer high level training opportunities to fencers everywhere in the province.
The program consists of the same pattern compared to the program of previous years. Each weapon will have their training camps organized separately but some might be held at the same location and at the same time for logistic reason. Each of the three Weapon Coordinators will be in charge to planning the training camps and the follow-up with the athletes.
Quest For Gold
Once the Quest for Gold program will be officially accepted by the ministry and as per our guidelines, athletes must be registered in the HPDP program in order to be eligible for Quest For Gold funding. All training camps are mandatory. Athletes will have to provide acceptable reason to the HPDP coordinator (max_bc@fencingontario.ca) beforehand in order to miss a training camp and still be eligible for Quest For Gold.
The program is also open to all fencers in Ontario. Veterans looking for a great weekend packed with fencing, university fencers looking for extra training, and youth fencers looking for continuing their growth.
Training camps:
The Weapon Coordinators will be in charge or organizing and running the two camps per weapon. All the training camps will be strategically schedule during the season to provide the best preparation possible for the athletes.
All personal coaches are encouraged to participate to the training camps.

Full program (mandatory for Quest For Gold eligibility) – $300
