CFF MEMBERS MUST HAVE A NATIONAL CFF LICENSE NUMBER, VALIDATED BY THEIR PROVINCIAL ASSOCIATION.

COACH PRE-REGISTRATION
All coaches must pre-register in order to have access to the competition area on the days they are coaching. All coaches must have completed a CFF-approved Safe Sport training module, successfully completed the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions evaluation, and provide a valid background check.

COMPETITION FORMAT
All events (except senior and veteran): poules with 20-30% eliminated, followed by direct elimination.
- For senior events with a minimum of 75 entries, there will be poules with 20-30% eliminated, followed by direct elimination and super poules for the top 16, followed by direct elimination for the top 12.
- For veteran events, there will be separate age group tableaux following completion of the open event. Fencers wanting to participate in their age group tableau must register for both their veteran event and the optional age group event.
PROCEDURE FOR THE ENTRY OF A COMPETITOR IN MORE THAN ONE EVENT
Athletes may not take part in two (2) or more events in the same day unless their participation in the initial event has concluded prior to close registration/confirmation of any subsequent event. Athletes entering multiple events on the same day do so at their own risk; no refunds shall be provided.
ENTRY CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation of entry due to a medical condition: Full refund of EVENT fees, provided the CFF organizers are notified at least 24 hours prior to the event and a doctor’s certificate is submitted.

WAIVERS
By registering for this CFF event, I consent to the following conditions:
- I consent to the assigned event medical staff attending, diagnosing and treating an injury that occurs on the piste during competition. I agree that this information will be recorded and tracked for my events. I agree that if the assigned medical staff determine that I cannot continue to compete, I will be withdrawn from the event
- I verify that I meet the age (upper and lower year of birth) and other event criteria for all the events I have entered. I acknowledge that I will be withdrawn from events that I am ineligible to compete in.
IMPORTANT
- Only athletes, officials, coaches meeting the above requirements, and designated volunteers will be allowed to access inside the competition area.
- All coaches must be registered coaches with the CFF, have completed safe sport training, successfully completed the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions evaluation, and provide a valid background check.
COVID PROTOCOLS

Open to all Category A, B, C and able body person athletes. All events will be mixed age and category.
Fencers are seeded using the IWAS ranking into best fit pools of 6 or 7 where possible.
In cases where pools of 6 or 7 are not possible, the DT will determine the most practical format, to ensure optimized competition.
There will be one round of pools with all participants promoted.
Advancement into Direct Elimination (D.E.) will be ranked on the results from the pools in accordance with IWAS rules.
An Open D.E. and a separate D.E. per category will be organized.
Medals will be awarded to the top four spots of the event. There is no fencing for third place.
Results will also be included in the OFA rankings.
License
All participants are required to have an active Competitive CFF/OFA Fencing License or an equivalent license from the participant’s home federation.
All Canadian fencers are expected to hold a Canadian license.
You may purchase/renew your license via the Canadian Fencing Federation website in real-time.
All international participants are required to present documentation confirming that they hold an active membership with their home federation, or a current, active FIE license.

Blade Sizes
• U-9 Foil/Epee – size 0-2 blades required
• U-9 Sabre – Plastic Sabre (provided by organizers)
• U-11 – size 0-2 blades required
• U-13 – no special rules regarding the maximum blade length
• U-15 – no special rules regarding the maximum blade length

Seeding into pools of 6 or 7 will be based first on the top 8 fencers with CFF HPP rankings, then the CFF domestic ranking for the category (Cadet, Junior, Senior, Veteran).

The Directoire Technique (DT) reserves the right to make adjustments to the seeding based upon exceptional circumstances (e.g. former national team member without a ranking, foreign fencers).

Participants that enter in multiple events may be required to fence multiple bouts without breaks.
Should conflicts arise, participants may be asked to withdraw from an event.
If you are registered in multiple events, you must CONFIRM your check-in for each event; please do NOT assume that if you are checked into your first event that you are automatically checked into subsequent events.
Results from the Veteran, Senior, Junior, Cadet events will be submitted to CFF for domestic rankings.
Results will also be included in the OFA rankings.
License
